Biography Nartsissov Yaroslav Rurikovich
Yaroslav Nartsissov has a PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, he is an Associate Professor in Biophysics.
In 1994 he graduated from the Moscow State Engineering Physics Institute (Technical University) with a degree in Radiation Safety of Human and Environment. Than he joined the problematic laboratory of metabolism regulation of the Biotiki Medical Research and Production Complex as a junior researcher. In 1997 he defended his thesis for the degree of PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, in specialty 03.00.02. "Biophysics". The topic of the dissertation was "Theoretical analysis of flow control in the kinetic model of an isolated enzyme." After that he was assignied as a researcher. Since June 1997 he is a full member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
Yaroslav Nartsissov did scientific internships at VU University Amsterdam (1998); University of Cambridge (2000), UK; University De Franche-Comte (2006), Besancon, France. From 2012 to 2015, he was a Research Visiting Fellow at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK.
In 1998 he held a position of Deputy Director for science of the MNPK Biotiki.
He presented results of his research works at international scientific conferences and symposiums. He became the chairman of scientific symposiums held within the framework of the scientific program of the VII, VIII, IX and X Russian National Congress "Man and Medicine", the organizer and chairman of the scientific conference ISGSB Conference, Vladimir, Russia, and also a guest lecturer and chairman of the section at the 71st Harden conference - "Metabolic Pathway Analysis 2011" (2011), Chester, UK.
In 1998, he began lecturing at Department of Biophysics (Head of Department - Prof. V. A. Klimanov) on the Faculty of Experimental and Theoretical Physics of the Moscow State Engineering Physics Institute (Technical University). The course of lectures "Cell Bioenergetics" was included in the list of the obligatory courses of the department. The course covered issues of biophysics of membrane processes, description of energy transformation processes in living systems during the oxidation of various metabolites, as well as photosynthesis processes. At the same time, he began teaching at the Russian State Medical University at the Department of Fundamental Neurology and Neurosurgery (head of the department - Prof. V. I. Skvortsova) of the Faculty of Medicine and Biology, where he lectured separate chapters in the course of Neurochemistry.
Since 1999, he was a member of the State Examination Commission of the Moscow State Engineering Physics Institute (Technical University) (since 2009 - NRNU MEPhI), which was responsible for graduation projects of students studying the specialty "Radiation Safety of Human and Environment".
Yaroslav Nartsissov was a PhD advisor of 2 dissertations which were successfully defended, and also a supervisor of 14 student graduation projects. In 2007 he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in Biophysics.
He is a holder of orders and medals of public organizations in Russia, France, Switzerland and Great Britain.
From 2001 to 2011 he held a position of the director of the Research Institute of Cytochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. The main scientific directions of the institute's activities are related to fundamental research to identify the molecular basis of pathology and the development of new drugs based on natural metabolites.
Research interests - modeling of biochemical processes in mammalian cells, biophysics of complex systems, theory of metabolic control, modeling of distributed processes in living systems, diffusion in biological systems, study of the regulation of oxidative phosphorylation in mitochondria, neurochemistry, regulation of neuronal and nervous tissue metabolism.
Yaroslav Nartsissov is an author of more than 70 articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals included in the scientific databases of Scopus and Web of Science, as well as in the RSCI.
